Trey Brewski Great outro song to the collection, I feel the bass is too far in the back ground but this album has been on constant replay since I got it so!!! Favorite track: Food For Powder.

David J I once heard Levitation described as a "conspiracy of five", which I think highlights the unique and powerful essence they possessed, something so precious yet so finely-balanced that to take away or change any one element would undo the spell. Had they weathered the storm together I believe they would have surpassed even more convincingly anything the rest of the 90s guitar pack (yes, including Radiohead) came up with. Levitation were in a league of their own. Guess it just wasn't to be.. Favorite track: I Believe.

c.m.bradfordart I can't really state it any better than the product page. This album could have/should have been a milestone in the pantheon of guitar-driven Alt/Art Rock albums of the early 90's, and the folks at Flashback have done a magnificent job resurrecting it from oblivion. A 22-year dream finally realised. What a gift! [Note to those purchasing digital only: Download the FLAC version. Compare formats in a wave editor and you'll see why.] Favorite track: I Believe.

Neill Jongman I have the Australian version - but this is something else. With Bickers voice now at the centre again it really is a special release. Wonderful production given how dense the instrumentation is. Dave's drumming is just so fluid and powerful. Great that it's finally been released in a form the band is happy with. Now 'Zurich' anyone?

Fans of British guitar music were wondering what was coming next. Shoegazing had run out of steam and nothing had sprung up in its place. The scene was dominated by imported grunge music from America with Nirvana and Pearl Jam leading the way. The four biggest British bands of the mid-nineties - Radiohead, Oasis, Blur and the Verve - had yet to release their iconic albums which would shape the course of the UK scene for the rest of the decade.

Levitation had been recording their second album in early 1993, and were set to release this ambitious and innovative work when the band split and the album was shelved indefinitely. Had this album been released as planned, it would have had a major impact on UK guitar music, standing shoulder to shoulder with the breakthrough albums by the bands mentioned above and pre-dating them by at least a year. Unfortunately, no one apart from a few dedicated fans trading low quality bootlegs online were able even to hear it, and the moment was lost.

Flashback Records release Meanwhile Gardens for the first time in the original planned format. The album has been painstakingly remastered at high resolution and sounds as fresh and new now as it did on the original tapes.
